Description:
A local client in the Nashville, Tennessee area is seeking a Systems Administrator for a permanent position.

This individual will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
• Attend work on a regular and predictable basis
• Assist System Architects with engineering solutions for various project and operational needs
• Install new, and rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks
• Identify approaches that leverage resources and provide economies of scale
• Perform daily system monitoring (PRTG Network Monitor), verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes
• Review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled tasks
• Assist daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
• Investigate and troubleshoot escalated issues from various teams
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures; coordinate and communicate with impacted users or entities
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
• Configure and add new services as necessary
• Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures
• Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
• Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
• Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment

Required skills:
• Wintel systems that support systems infrastructure
• Appliances that support system infrastructure
• VSphere 5.1, 5.5, 6, 6.5 environments with multiple ESXi Clusters (how to navigate)
• Active Directory Domain Administration & Policy
• Powershell, Vbscript and batch automated tasks
• Exchange 2010, Secure Email, SPAM Filter and Messaging

Preferred skills:
• Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
• Enterprise Faxing technologies similar to Rightfax
• IIS Web servers
• Appliances that support system infrastructure

On-call responsibilities and travel:
• Rotation of 24/7 on-call duties with other team members; rotation occurs every 8-10 weeks
• Occasional travel; normally no more than 1-2 times per year

Education:
• A Bachelors Degree is preferred but not required
