Description:
A client in Franklin, TN is seeking a Software Engineer for a permanent position with a hybrid work schedule; 2 days remote and 3 days onsite.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with PSImetals software. This software is used in the steel, aluminum, and energy sectors. Experience with similar software products would be acceptable. The Software Engineers will design, develop and install software solutions. The role is to build and maintain high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in the manufacturing industry.

Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as project leader for assigned development projects.
- Facilitates definition of business processes and user requirements; develops functional specifications.
- Assesses existing system capabilities and develops revised processing, data warehousing, or reporting solutions; develops system enhancements; recommends new applications software solutions if appropriate; uses design tools and writes code as necessary.
- Ensures integration of enhanced or new systems with legacy and other systems and IT infrastructure.
- Develops testing plan and procedures; coordinates user testing of new solutions; resolves issues.
- Coordinate implementation of systems enhancements or new software solutions.
- Develops system documentation.
- Provides user support for existing applications systems.
- Fields requests from users; analyzes problems; instructs users on how to resolve issues.
- Writes database queries and scripts; creates incremental system enhancements to resolve issues or add functionality.
- May be on-call to provide after-hours user support.

Qualifications:
- 4+ years of software analysis and programming experience or equivalent training/experience.
- Experience working with PSImetals software or similar software products used in the steel, aluminum, and energy sectors.
- Understands organizational unit materials management/production/administrative work processes, including some or all of the following: procurement, inventory management, logistics, shop floor control, A/P, A/R, cost accounting, financial reporting, customer service.
- Apply work process diagramming and other analysis/design techniques.
- Working knowledge of some or all of the following: Microsoft .NET, C#, dotNetCore, SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, ETL, PL/SQL Packages, Oracle (backend), Microsoft Dynamics AX, ERP/MES systems, X++, MorphX, Crystal Reports, ZAP.
- Basic knowledge of mobile computing and communication solutions.
- Strong analytical skills.

Travel:
Occasional - Less than 10%

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems or closely related discipline is highly preferred
